Existentialism
On June 21, 1905, Jean-Paul Sartre, the French existientialist philosopher and writer, was born. So today's quotes comes from him (and as I frequently experience existentialist crises it was difficult to find a positive/celebratory one from him):
"Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does. It is up to you to give [life] a meaning."
"Like all dreamers I confuse disenchantment with truth."
Today in 1948 the LP was introduced to the world by Columbia Records at a demonstration at the Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan. In celebration of that, and Brandon Flowers' (of The Killers) birthday here's their song "When You Were Young"
